Lunar: Dragon Song has been released by Ubisoft exclusively for the Nintendo DS. The game is the first original installment of the Lunar franchise to be released in more than ten years and the first traditional fantasy RPG for Nintendo DS.
The game takes place 1,000 years before the events of the first game in the Lunar series, Lunar: The Silver Star. The peaceful planet Lunar is under the protection of goddess Althena, the creator of Lunar. Yet, trouble stirs on the horizon as vicious demons have started to invade. Gamers play as Jian and his friends. Soon after the game begins, Jian realizes that an evil plot is being laid against Althena and that he and his friends are the only ones who can save the planet.
In the game, players must battle to transform the Dark enemy creatures into Beings of Light with new items and weapons not seen previously in Lunar titles. Finding different Battle Cards during your quest will allow you to alter the abilities and powers of members of your party. A cool feature added to the game will allow you to command situations by giving orders into the DS microphone.
Lunar: Dragon Song retails for $29.99 and is scheduled to be released in Fall 2005. No rating has been given to this game yet.
