Dragon Ball FighterZ was the most-watched event in EVO history at EVO 2018. This game is hype beyond hype, y’all. Of course, in true EVO fashion, Arc System Works had something new to show off for the game. In addition to looking at more of the upcoming Goku and Vegeta DLC character variants, a brand new character was announced.
The trailer, which reconfirmed Goku and Vegeta as coming to Dragon Ball FighterZ on August 8, 2018, showed the two characters in recreations of classic scenes from the anime and manga within the game’s engine. It was pretty cool to see, especially with the massive EVO crowd yelling every time a classic scene was recreated. But that was nothing compared to the noise made when Cooler followed the demonstration.
Cooler is a character introduced in the Dragon Ball Z movie series, introduced as Frieza’s more powerful brother. He has a transformation that looks inspired by Super Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which makes him pretty rad in my book. He does not yet have a release date, but hopefully we will see him in Dragon Ball FighterZ soon.
